Patagonia
Located at the south of Argentina, Patagonia is a land of beauty, with deserts, mountains, glaciers, lakes and foremost, its mystique!
It is comprised by five provinces, and covers a third of the total territory of Argentina. This unique environment provides visitors a taste of so much that is special about Northern Patagonia. Even more impressive is the range of natural habitats and environmental features available in one location. Because of the spectacular natural resources found here, large areas have been declared national parks, in an effort to preserve the remains of native forests which once covered the greater part of south-western Argentina, including pure stands of the prehistoric araucaria ( monkey-puzzle tree ), with its unequivocal umbrella shape. The Patagonia wilderness is also the perfect scene for just about any outdoor activity. From hunting and fishing, to photography or overnight camping on the shore of the rivers, with horseback riding and hiking somewhere in between, there is one thing they all have in common - the quality of the experience.

History of Patagonia
Throughout its history the Patagonia has remained a desolate, inhospitable and virgin territory which resists human intervention. The arrival of the Spaniards in the 16th century did not mean major changes for the Patagonia. In spite of their military superiority, the conquerors did not establish settlements in these desolate lands.
A great number of explorers travelled through the mysterious Patagonia and their reports delivered valuable scientific information about these lonely lands for generations to enjoy. Among the crew members, Charles Darwin stood out, he was a young naturalist whose mission was to unravel the secrets of these unknown landscapes. In his studies he gives a detailed account of the biological riches of the indomitable nature that represents the Patagonian area.
